Dexter: Original Sin β€œHack & Slash” (Paramount+)

Our Paramount+ Global Marketing & Social team blurred reality to create a killer stunt for the launch of Dexter: Original Sin. IRL OOH met Faux OOH in this viral announcement that had audiences across the globe all wrapped up.

With the help of production partner Kamp Grizzly, we integrated Dexter’s iconic plastic wrap into actual OOH, using fully biodegradable material that was recycled after the stunt. On-the-ground activations were dropped in Miami, NYC, Venice Beach and SΓ£o Paulo – drawing fans and passersby towards the shocking installations.

We brought the idea to massive scale by using 3D, motion and VFX artists to β€œwrap” 14 iconic landmarks in additional Paramount+ regions. Landmarks included Rome’s Colosseum, Berlin’s Brandenburg Gates, London’s Tower Bridge, Sydney’s Harbour Bridge, and Vancouver’s Science World.

The CGI renders dropped the same day as the IRL activations, leveraging the social handles of series talent like Sarah Michelle Gellar and local Creators in each market. Fervent speculation exploded across the internet as fans debated what was real and what was a ruse.
